Horus Ruins Christmas

One of my main areas of interest is the Jesus Myth, which argues that there was no Jesus and the Gospels are just versions of pagan myths. I came across this video, called Horus Ruins Christmas, that I just had to share. Not only is it filled with truth, it is extremely funny. This is one of the best responses to the Jesus myth that I have ever seen. If you like this, you can check out the Lutheran Satire YouTube channel here.

  1. Reblogged this on Philosophical Apologia and commented:
This is hilarious i absolutely love it. A great example of why i started this blog. The subject matter this video refutes is one of the main reasons I started this blog. Yet another great example of what i like to call internet atheism aka poor reasoning, a lack of logic and disregard of the most basic philosophy, and at its heart a volatile disregard of intellectual honesty. When it comes to the video itself i think it makes some great points:
    1. This attempt to refit Jesus into a pagan light completely failed in academic cirlces….. IN THE 1800s! (yet you still see it on twitter and youtube like come on)
    2. If you read or watch any of these absurd pieces you will continuously notice the same thing: 0% citation of the original historic sources to prove their point. Why? because you won’t find any of this rubbish there. (Hence the reason you would never here a true academic philosopher or historian ever try to say this)
    3. Even if in some far off parallel universe this could some how be true you have to recognize a simple fact: the chance that there could be a causal link between any of these myths and the thoughts of the Jewish people of Israel is just about 0%. Why? Because of geographic locatation, information movement, etc
Heres a good video that basically says the exact points above: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6AZqOO2FJA
