Chaplains With PTSD

One of the most important roles for military chaplains is helping soldiers deal with PTSD. However, there is no magic force-field to protect chaplains from getting PTSD themselves.

I came across this story about the experience of Chaplain Rickey Bennett who did a tour in Iraq. He was so focused on helping others that he did not realize that he had PTSD. His PTSD is as real as any other soldier’s. It is worth reading his story. It is also a reminder that we need to support all of our soldiers in whatever capacity they may have served.
