2014: Year in Review

This has been an eventful year. Although it seems that every year is an eventful one. Here are some of the things that took place, at least from a ministry perspective.

Bedard Family
Me and my five children.

I continued a break from my Doctor of Ministry studies. I hope to get back to it early in 2015.

My time at Faith Today magazine came to an end. It was a great experience and I learned a lot about writing, editing and social media. I really believe in this magazine and in the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada. I encourage you to keep checking out their websites because they are filled with helpful resources.

I taught five courses at Emmanuel Bible College, including New Testament I & II, Acts, Apologetics and Biblical Interpretation.

I had opportunities to preach and teach at a number of churches, including a four week series on “Sects Education” at North Burlington Baptist Church. I also got to preach for three weeks at First Baptist Church Meaford where I used to pastor.

I was able to speak at a conference called “Building Communities of Belonging” that was put on by Christian Horizons. I spoke on ministry to those with special needs from both a pastor’s and a parent’s perspective.

Jehovah's WitnessesMy book on Jehovah’s Witnesses called The Watchtower and the Word was released in both paperback and Kindle. I have had a lot of good feedback from this book.

I merged my three blogs into this one blog. While it has taken a lot of rebuilding, it has been nice to have all my interests in one place. At this blog I write on everything from apologetics to social media, leadership to autism and many other things besides.

My ministry as a chaplain in the army reserves reached a new level as I graduated with my Basic Occupational Qualification. This means that I am now a qualified chaplain.

AutismMy newest book, How to Make Your Church Autism-Friendly, was just released on Kindle. This is an important book for me as a parent of two children with autism. I hope you will pass this resource on to churches and pastors who need it.

What will 2015 hold? Only God knows. I have a few publishing projects that I hope to complete. I want to get back to my D.Min. studies. I also want to get my podcast going again. Of course, I need additional employment, whether part-time or full-time. I will be teaching another course at Emmanuel Bible College.

How can you pray?

  • For our financial situation, including additional employment.
  • For our five children.
  • For the Hope’s Reason Ministry.
  • For good stewardship of my time.
  • For direction for my wife and I.

Thank you for your support.
