I have just completed Hubspot’s Inbound Marketing Certification. You may think that is strange as my background is more in Christian ministry and theology. However, I have found this training to be very helpful.
What is inbound marketing?
Inbound marketing is a major shift in maketing. Whereas previous generations put all their effort into getting their message in the face of potential customers, inbound marketing focuses on creating quality content that benefits people. It is about building relationships and getting to the point that people are interested in what you have to offer.
Why should I care?
My goal is to get helpful information out to the people that need it. However, I do not want to be a lazy blogger. I don’t want to just blog anything and then hope someone reads it. Inbound marketing training helps bloggers to be more intentional, not just in their content, but in the way that they distribute and that context.
I learned a lot from the inbound marketing classes. If you are a business owner, it is a must. If you want to just have a more effective online presence, you should enrol. I expect to be working through what I learned for a long time to come.
Did I mention it is free?
And there is more…
You might be dreading getting on another email list. Let me tell you that Hubspot is worth it. I actually open all my emails from Hubspot because they almost always send me something that I can use in my blogging. The eBooks they offer are actually useful. There have been times that I have been trying to figure out how to do something and the next thing I know there is an eBook in my inbox explaining how to do.
My suggestion is to give it try. Since it is free, you have nothing to lose but a lack of knowledge.
