A few years back I wrote a book called the Watchtower and the Word. It started out as a response to the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ book, What Does the Bible Really Teach? However, it grew into more than that. It really is a guide to productive conversations with Jehovah’s Witnesses, pointing the reader to the issues that need to be focused on.
Is this something that is worth reading? Instead of me telling you why I think it is a pretty good book, I thought I would share from my Amazon reviews.
This was a wonderful discussion on key concepts of christianity. Faith in what many would consider traditional Christian teachings is maybe very comforting, but if you want to challenge , to fortify, or maybe change your position…. this is a great read. whether you agree or disagree with the conclusions, the honest heartfelt discussions allows us to open the debate without emotion if we only listen (or read in this case). Want to really dig into your bible? This may be a great place to start. It may also change or at least soften your views on those ‘crazy people knocking at your door’ known as Jehovah’s Witnesses.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The analysis and rebuttal of Watchtower doctrine is spot-on, with ample evidence provided from Scripture and authoritative sources. Yet, this book flows like a lifting conversation, without being droll or heavy handed. After reading the last page, I felt better prepared to engage a JW and ready to answer the door next time they knock.
I enjoyed reading this book. Very helpful and informative. Anyone who has family members or friends should read this book. I have read many books on Jehovah Witnesses and feel this is one at the top of my list. Many times Christians are not prepared when talking to Jehovah Witnesses this is a good resource to help.
A very helpful book with many suggestions on how to interact with Jehovah’s Witnesses. Very practical and easy for the lay person to understand. I would recommend this book to the many Christians who need to understand more about Jehovah’s Witnesses.
This is a great resource! Mr Bedard has done his research and shows us how to shed light on false teachings through the love of Christ.
