I find that Christians are still surprised when they hear that there are people who doubt the historical existence of Jesus. People have always doubted that Jesus was the Christ or the Son of God, but his existence?
I recently did a two part series for my Thinking Faith column for ChristianWeek.
The first part was called The Strange Case of the Missing Jesus. In this post I introduce people to the Jesus Myth Theory, including our own Canadian contribution to it.
In the second part, called Building a Case for the Historical Jesus, I present the evidence for the historical Jesus. The truth is that we have more than enough evidence to satisfy professional historians.
If you know someone who is just encountering the Jesus Myth Theory, these posts may be of some help.
I would also like to recommend my own Jesus Myth page that is full of resources.
