Today was a day that I have been looking forward to for a long time. This morning, I had the opportunity and privilege to baptize one of my children. Emma, along with another young person from our church were baptized in response to their faith in Jesus. Emma is the first of our five children to seek baptism.
It seems like only yesterday that I dedicated her as a baby, back when we lived in Meaford. And now she has grown to a place where she desires to follow Jesus. It was so moving for me to be a part of this and to baptize her.
This of course makes me think about my other children (Emma is actually the second youngest of our five). I won’t push the others, I want them to seek baptism when they are ready. But what does baptism look like for Logan and Abby? I have no idea. I can see Logan being able to make the decision but I don’t know about Abby. These are hard questions.
But what I can focus on today is that Emma was baptized. This is some very good news!
