Was the Resurrection of Jesus an April Fool’s Joke?
One of the things my children love to do is to watch YouTube videos of people pranking their friends. This year, Easter Sunday takes place on April 1. What if the resurrection of Jesus was just an April fool’s joke? What if it really didn’t happen?
Sometimes people ask me what it would take for me to give up on Christianity. Mistakes by the church (and there are many of them) wouldn’t do it. Scientific discoveries about the origin of the universe or the development of life wouldn’t do it. Difficult passages in the Bible wouldn’t do it.
I would stop being a Christian if I was convinced that Jesus really didn’t rise from the dead.
On Saturday, March 31 at 10:00 am, I will be addressing the resurrection of Jesus, including examination of competing theories. This will take place at Heritage Christian Bookstore in St. Catharines, Ontario. If you are a Christian who would like to know more about the resurrection or if you are a seeker who is willing to weigh the evidence, you are welcome to join us. Heritage has a nice cafe there and it will be a relaxed atmosphere of conversation about this important topic. I hope you will join us.
