Good News: Some Kid Time

Stephen BedardOne of the challenges of having two of our children live 1.5 hours away is that we don’t get to see them near as often as we would like. Saturdays have generally been our day for visits but Amanda works Saturday evenings now and so we are trying to find better ways to have visits.

Thankfully, we were able to have a visit on Friday as Logan and Abby had the day of school. It was so good to see them as we had missed them so bad. With our other kids at school, we got a few hours of just them and us.

Later in the day, we had a combined birthday party as so many in our family have birthdays in April. We had the most amount of cousins together at one time and even got them in a picture. It was great.

The downside was that Abby insisted on going back that night and Logan insisted on staying over. Because of their autism, it is difficult to reason them through this. This led to two separate trips back to their group home.

The positive side of that is that it is good that Abby likes her group home and it is good that Logan likes staying with us.

My Good News is that we got to see them. My prayer is that we would be able to get them into a group home closer to us.
