I just finished two weeks of vacation. I ended in a surprising way, by visiting my own church. Most pastors don’t attend their own church when on vacation. But I wanted to this week (I went somewhere else the week before).
It was nice to be there, sitting in the back row, just being there to worship. The service was led by Chris Vanderwater, the previous pastor at Queen Street Baptist Church. Often that kind of situation would not work, but Chris and I have a great relationship and it didn’t feel awkward at all.
The message was brought by Jeff Webb, the pastor of LIFT Church. We do a lot of work with Jeff and his congregation, and so it was great to finally hear him preach. I really appreciated his message.
It was so nice to be there just as a worshipper. It made me appreciate the special congregation we have. I’m ready to get back to work.
