One of the goals that I have had is to get back into the army reserves, specifically the Lincoln and Welland Regiment. I loved my experience as a chaplain with the Lorne Scots Regiment and have greatly desired to get back involved now that my health has improved.
There are a lot of hoops to jump through when it comes to the military but those were finally accomplished. I was able to show up to the armoury this past Thursday and signed my first pay sheet for the army in three years.
It felt good to be back. Very good. Military chaplaincy scratches an itch in my life that no other role does. But it is not just about me. It is about giving back to men and women who serve in the military.
I am so thankful that everything has come together and I look forward to new experiences with my new regimental family.
