Loki: Season One – Review

I will admit that I had my doubts about a Loki television series. Yes Loki is an interesting character and Tom Hiddleston does a fantastic job of portraying him. But Loki died in Avengers, and although a past version of him escaped, that seemed like a pretty thin foundation for a series.

It ended up being one of the best Marvel productions so far. It is as wild of a ride as WandaVision. Loki ends up being taken and eventually working for the Time Variance Authority (TVA). This includes Mobius, played by Owen Wilson (who is one of the funniest actors). Hiddleston and Wilson had great chemistry.

It is a rollercoaster of time travel that includes variants of the same character. In fact one of the main characters is a female version of Loki. It was fun to watch their relationship develop.

I really enjoyed this series. I will say that I found the finale to be somewhat disappointing, not in the content, but in the pacing. It just felt like more could be done. Still the finale set things up for the next stage of Marvel.

And at the end, we find out that there will be another season of Loki. This good news. So far, I’m really impressed with the Marvel television series on Disney +.
