About Me

So Who is Stephen J. Bedard?

Stephen BedardThat’s a good question. I am a Christian and a husband and a father. But you might want more than that.

I am the pastor of Queen Street Baptist Church in St. Catharines, Ontario. This is actually our hometown and so we are excited to be able to minister in this community.

I love school and education. I have a BBA from Brock University, MDiv, MTh and MA degrees from McMaster Divinity College and I hope to soon graduate with my DMin from Acadia Divinity College.

I am interested in apologetics, partially because I am a skeptic by nature and spent a number of years as an atheist. Ironically, I went into university as an atheist and came out as a Christian. I believe that apologetics has an important role in the Church and that I am called to help people in defending the Christian faith.

I am also interested in disabilities, especially autism. Our two oldest children have autism and live in a group home. I enjoy exploring the intersection of faith and disabilities and I hope to encourage churches to become more welcoming. I point you to my autism blog.

I love to write and have had articles published in Faith Today, ChristianWeek, Alive Now and Autism Parenting, in addition to scholarly journals.

I have an incredible wife (visit her website) and five awesome children. I am also a huge fan of all things J.R.R. Tolkien and an avid reader of World War Two history.

If you want to know more about me, you can check out my curriculum vitae, as well as the books I have written.
