5 Ways to Monetize Your Blog

You have started a blog and you are getting some regular views of your post. Now you have begun to think about monetizing your blog.

There is nothing wrong with monetizing a blog. Our economy is based on being paid for the skills we have and the products we produce. It is perfectly acceptable to monetize.

Perhaps you are just looking for some money to help pay for your domain and hosting. Maybe you are hoping to one day quit your job and blog full-time.

Whatever your goals, you have to start somewhere. Here are five ideas that you can try:

1. Google AdSense. This is the easiest as it doesn’t require much work from you. But you do need quite a few page views to make any money.
2. Amazon Affiliate. This is a fun way to refer people to products you recommend and get a cut of what is sold. It takes much more work as you only make money if you get those links out there.
3. Sell your own product. You may have something of value to sell. It may be t-shirts, ebooks or a course. Makes sure it connects with your content.
4. Sell advertising. One of the things you have to offer is the views on your website. There are advertisers who would like to get their product in front of those eyeballs.
5. Sell your skills. You can make money by promoting yourself. Perhaps you are a speaker or a musician or an artist. Your website can get you to those paid opportunities.
