And the Greatest Comic Book TV Show is…
Some time back I did a Twitter poll showdown to determine the best comic book movie. The winner of that poll was the Dark Knight.
I decided to do the same thing with comic book TV shows. Again, I chose to focus only on Marvel and DC. The final five were:
- Incredible Hulk (1977-82)
- Lois & Clark (1993-97)
- Agents of SHIELD (2013-)
- Daredevil (2015-18)
- Punisher (2017-19)
Before getting to the results, I will say that there were some surprises. I really thought DC would have done better. Not only have there been more DC than Marvel TV shows, DC seems to excel in this area. But the only DC show that made it to the semi-finals.
I was also pleasantly surprised that the Incredible Hulk did so well. That was probably the comic book TV show that I watched most as kid (except for maybe Adventures of Superman).
The final showdown didn’t include any DC shows. It came down to two very different Marvel shows: Daredevil and Agents of SHIELD.
The final result was that Agents of SHIELD was chosen as the best live action comic book TV show. It is interesting that it is the series that is most connected to the MCU movies.
