Blogging in a Post-COVID World

We are not exactly post-pandemic yet, but it is time for us to reflect on what blogging will look like post-pandemic vs pre-pandemic.
The basic principles will remain the same. There is a need for quality content that is relevant to those searching and written by people who have some knowledge in the area.
Here is how COVID-19 has affected blogging.
There is a large group of people who have come online and who are looking for good content. These are the older people and other holdouts who had not been online. They were forced to go online to keep in touch with family, go to church, shop and other things they would normally have done in person. This is a new audience that you should be considering.
Some of these people are still trying to figure out the online world. They know how to log onto Zoom and Google a topic but that is about it. Blog posts helping people to navigate the online world will be timely.
People have also become more aware of their own issues. Mental health has been a real struggle. Others have lost jobs and are trying to figure out their future. Blog posts that will help people with personal development will be eagerly sought after.
Multi-media will continue to be important. Embedding audio and video will add value to your posts. But people are also suffering from “Zoom fatigue,” so please keep that in mind. People are not looking for more of what they have just had to do for work or school.
This is a time for us as bloggers evaluate what we have been doing and consider what we will do in the future. This is a natural time of transition and we must pivot with our changing world.
