Devotions: Galatians
A devotion based on Galatians 1:6-7.
These verses are key to the entire letter to the Galatians. Paul was upset the Galatians were considering abandoning the true Gospel of God. The Gospel that Paul preached was that people can become Christians through the grace of God, apart from any rules or rituals. After Paul left the area, people came preaching another “gospel.” This message was that the Galatians had to follow the Jewish law before they could become followers of Jesus. According to Paul, this is such a false message that can even be called a gospel or good news.
While we face different circumstances, there are still plenty of false “gospels.” It may be the message of legalism or prosperity or materialism or greed. People keep trying to blend the biblical message with false messages. We need to keep going back to the Bible to ensure that we have true Gospel. Because if we don’t have the true Gospel, we don’t have any Gospel.
