Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – Review

What did I think of the new Doctor Strange movie? In summary, it was not as good as I had hoped and and not as bad as I had feared.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse got some pretty bad reviews and many people were disappointed with it. I watched it with that in mind. I did not think it was that bad.
There was something off with the movie. It tried to capture some of the humour of other Marvel movies but the attempts often fell flat. I also thought some of the the CGI was disappointing, especially in the early scenes.
This should have been an amazing movie as this was the first appearances of Professor X and Mister Fantastic in the MCU. The concept of the Illuminati was interesting and it was one of the more interesting parts of the movie.
The basic plot was that Doctor Strange encounters a young woman named America Chavez who can travel between multiverses. Knowing that a powerful being is pursuing her, Strange seeks help from the Scarlet Witch. Unfortunately, it was the Scarlet Witch who was after America in order to use her powers to get to a universe where her children existed.
This may be one of the problems with this movie. After the series WandaVision, I think most of us were hoping for a rehabilitation of Wanda. Instead, she turns into one of the worst villains.
In general, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was a good movie. It may not have been the huge hit Marvel was looking for, but it plays an important part of the current stage of Marvel movies.
If you are a Marvel fan, it is worth watching. But if you are a Scarlet Witch fan, you might be disappointed.
