Faith Today: Apologetics Without Apology
Another issue of Faith Today magazine is now available. If you have not discovered Faith Today yet, you really need to. I think it is great, and that is not just because I used to be the associate editor.
I am highlighting this issue for a specific reason. This issue includes an article by Andy Bannister on apologetics. Here is a little snippet:
Evangelism and apologetics rank high on the list of what makes Christians nervous. There’s a growing anxiety that evangelism isn’t possible in secular, pluralistic Canada (or only if we carefully disguise it so that our non-Christian friend doesn’t realize what we’re doing until it’s too late). If people have even heard of apologetics (that branch of Christian theology concerned with giving reasons why Christians believe what they do), they often perceive it to be about dry, dusty arguments in ivory towers, or about trying to argue people into the Christian faith.
This is a tragedy.
We live in a cultural moment when the need for apologetics – and a fresh vision and passion for evangelism – is greater than ever.
