Fear the Walking Dead: Season Six – Review
There are times that I think that Fear the Walking Dead is better than the original Walking Dead. This is probably because it has a much smaller cast of characters and the stories are not quite so complex.
Season six includes the conclusion to the Virginia storyline. She was an interesting villain in that it was never completely clear how evil she was. Yes she regularly crossed the line, but so did most of the people in TWD world. Especially near the end of her story, we see that she was trying to make something good, even if she used questionable methods.
Fear the Walking Dead really changed when Morgan jumped from the parent series to this series. I’m never sure what to make about Morgan. There is a lot I like but then he gets a messiah complex and is just hard to deal with. This season explores those parts of him.
I liked the villain for the second half of the season. John Glover is such a great actor and he really made Teddy believable. He is the one behind “The end is the beginning” messages. And he really means it.
Teddy, like Virginia, wants to make the world a better place. Unfortunately, unlike Virginia, Teddy thinks this can only happen by killing everyone and letting the planet restart.
Teddy has a plan to make this happen and that includes a beached nuclear submarine. Facing likely death, we get glimpses of who each of these characters really are on the inside.
The season concludes by setting up a post-apocalyptic post-apocalyptic (or is that post-post-apocalyptic?) world. It will be interesting how they deal with their new world in season seven.
