Good News: 17 Years!
Today is Amanda and my 17th wedding anniversary. Seventeen years ago on this day we were recovering from a snow storm that left me stuck in my parents’ driveway, while Amanda (wearing her veil) was pushing some other guy who was also stuck. Today, we have a very un-Canadian February day with spring-like weather. But so much more than weather has changed.
Seventeen years ago, we had no idea what we were getting into. We had no idea about autism or sarcoidosis or any of the other challenges that would come our way. We have had some very difficult events in our life, things I would never have imagined.
But I don’t want to dwell on the bad. The challenges are the backdrop by which Amanda’s character shines. I am so proud of her and the things that she has done. Her recent acceptance by Brock University is just the latest of many events that have increased my respect for her.
I can say in all honesty that I love Amanda more today than I did seventeen years ago. My love for her grows with every year. I’m so thankful that she is partner in this adventure called life. I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else.

Congrats and God bless you! ?
Thanks!
