Good News: Did Not Get Blown Away
My weekly Good News post is usually about something good that happened. But it could just as well be about something bad that did not happen.
Last year we got hit by Hurricane Fiona. It hit us hard and we ended up being without power for two weeks. When we heard that this year Hurricane Lee was heading for Nova Scotia, we were nervous.
Having one hurricane under our belt, we were better prepared. We knew what we needed and even what to expect. Sort of.
The day that the storm was passing through, it began very much like what we saw last year. You can see a little in this short video.
It was pretty windy and we saw some branches go down. But then it just ended up being a bit of wind and rain. Not much happened.
You could say this hurricane was Lee-neient toward us.
I have no doubt that Lee did do some damage in certain areas and that there were parts hit hard. I know that our cottage, which is further west of us, is still without power.
But after last year, I will take Lee and the lack of damage in our area.
