Good News: Enjoying the Research
Joy and research are not necessarily two words that you would put in the same sentence. But I am indeed enjoying my research for my Doctor of Ministry thesis.
Let me be clear what I mean by research. I have done the chapters that look at the biblical and theological foundation for my topic, as well as the literature review. What I am doing know is interviewing people.
What is my topic?
My topic is on disability ministry for small churches. What can “normal” size churches do to welcome and include people with disabilities? Part of my research is to talk to individuals and parents of individuals with disabilities.
Seeing the possibilities is very exciting. But I will balance this by saying there are some heartbreaking stories of how bad a job some churches have done.
Still, I am enjoying this part of the thesis and hope to get the final project done soon.
