Good News: Iris
We have had a lot of change in our life lately. So we thought it was the perfect time for us to get a puppy! So a few days ago we welcomed Iris into our family.
We have had dogs for the majority of our married life. However, this is the first time we have ever had two dogs at the same time. We were nervous, especially since our other dog (who has just turned one years old) is afraid of other dogs, including (especially?) smaller dogs.

Thankfully, they have gotten along very well. I wouldn’t say that Lily is tolerating Iris, I would say she loves her. There was some hesitancy at first but they have connected very well. They love to wrestle and that is good for both of them. We have observed that Lily seems more content not that Iris is with us.
Don’t get me wrong, having a puppy is a lot of work. But in many ways, bringing Iris here with Lily already here has been easier that when we brought Lily home as a puppy with no other dogs.
Iris is likely to become a fairly big dog and it should be fun to watch Lily and Iris grow up together (they are ten months apart). We are definitely a dog family.
But don’t ask the cats what they think…
