Good News: Love a Good Potluck
At each of the churches that I have been a pastor of, I have gotten the reputation as the guy who always loves potluck lunches/dinners. It is a well-deserved reputation.
It is not because I am a glutton and that I require large amounts of food. My appetite has gone down as I have gotten older but I make an exception for potlucks.
There is something special about potlucks. They give people an opportunity to bring a favourite dish and we all get to share it. It is a celebration of our diversity.
Last Saturday, we had a potluck for Brookfield Baptist Church held at the home of one of our families. It was a great time with all kinds of amazing dishes and desserts. Of course the best part is the fellowship.
Potlucks will continue to be one of my favourite parts of church.
