Good News: Movie Night
The reality of family life for us on most days is that we are all busy. We are on our technology. We are doing homework or church work. We are chatting with friends. It seems like family life can often be “parallel play” with little interaction.
Every once in a while, things come together and the kids are open to just spending time with us. Last night was one of those times.
Without any major planning, we just decided to have a movie night. We sat together on the couch and watched the movie The Martian. They brought their blankets down and got comfy. Even some of the cats joined us for it.
I had seen the movie before, and enjoyed it just as much the second time. But the point was that it was the family together. I’m not sure if I, when I was a teenager, was as open to spending time with my parents. It was fun to be together and watch a great movie.
This is Good News.
