Good News: Our Children and Communication
Often when I write about children and communication, I’m speaking of our children with autism. But you don’t need autism to have communication challenges. Our youngest are just becoming teens. That age is not known for open communication.
My Good News is that I feel blessed that our children talk to us. Not just that they talk, but they are very honest about their hopes and fears. They tell us about what they struggle with.
I have to admit that our children share much more with us than I shared with my parents at their age. They feel comfortable enough with us to tell us much of what they feel.
I don’t take this for granted. Nor do I know that this is permanent. But for the time it is here, I’m thankful that we can have this relationship.
