Good News: Peggy’s Cove
Last week, I took our daughter Emma to a doctor’s appointment inHalifax to check on the progress of her broken collar bone. Unfortunately, it is not healing as quickly was we would like, even though she is not in pain and has full range of motion.
Since we were in that area of the province, I decided that we would stop in at Peggy’s Cove before heading back to Brookfield.
To be honest, we were blown away by the scenery just on the drive there. But then we arrived and felt like we were in a different country. It actually reminded me very much pictures I have seen in Scotland (I can understand why Nova Scotia is New Scotland).
We spent quite a while there, taking our time climbing over the rocks along the ocean. It was a real workout but very much worth it. We were probably on the rocks for about an hour and a half before we made it to the lighthouse.
We capped it off by having lunch together at a restaurant there and then having a conversation with a local painter (Emma is an artist herself).
It was an enjoyable father-daughter time together. I was glad that I made the last minute decision to make the trip as my original plans were very different. Family time is extremely important and I value all the time I have with any of my children.
