Good News: Remembrance Day
Today is Remembrance Day, a day that has always been important to me. I have observed it in different ways over the years but I really appreciate the opportunity I now have.
Here in Brookfield, we have a community Remembrance Day service sponsored by Knox United Church and Brookfield Baptist Church. As one of the pastors of BBC, I get to participate in this capacity.
But in addition to being a pastor, I am also an army chaplain the reserves. This means I get to participate in that capacity as well.
This was the second year I have been a part of this service. Before those times, Amanda did a fantastic job leading the service for BBC.
Remembrance Day is a very meaningful day for me, and based on the number of people in attendance, for many people in our community as well. We remember the sacrifice of those who gave so much, in some cases, their everything, for the sake of freedom. They deserve our respect.
I am so thankful to have been a part of this.
