Good News: Thankful For Medication
I have a disease called sarcoidosis. I don’t often think about it because most days it doesn’t affect me. It would be easy to forget I have it because it is controlled by medication.
Under guidance from one of my specialists, I went off my medication for two weeks before and one week after each of my two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination. The same thing happened both times.
About three weeks into being off my meds, I start to feel the symptoms of sarcoidosis. This includes joint and back pain, a rash, trouble sleeping, a loss of appetite and a general feeling of blah. I start to feel like I did before I went on the meds.
This is not a complaint. The Good News is that my sarcoidosis is controlled by my medication. This is something that not everyone with sarcoidosis experiences. That I can experience a full life despite a diagnosis is something that I’m thankful for.
