Good News: Thankful For My Co-Pastor
I have now entered the second week of my chaplain course at CFB Borden. It has been a great time so far. I am aware that it is difficult for some reserve chaplains to take these courses because of their church obligations. That is why I’m thankful for my co-pastor.
My wife Amanda and I are co-pastors at Brookfield Baptist Church. This is great for many reasons but one is that it gives me the freedom to do these courses.
Amanda is not “stepping in” for me, as if she is someone doing my job. We are co-pastors, which means that we share all of the responsibilities and she is doing her job.
Amanda is an excellent pastor. I heard part of her talk at the recent Remembrance Day service in Brookfield and she did an excellent job. She is naturally talented for such events.
While I miss being at home, I’m thankful that my gifted co-pastor is leading the church well without me being there.
