Good News: The Cat is Back!
It has been an emotional month on the pet front in the Bedard household. Our cat Whitney went missing at the beginning of the last month. Then a few weeks later we had to put our dog down. How bad could 2020 get?
The interesting thing is that I had two different reactions to the loss of both pets. I had cried when our dog died but, while still missing Whitney, the grief wasn’t so sharp.
Some will say it is because losing a dog is worse than losing a cat. But I have traditionally been more of a cat person than a dog person. I think it was because I never saw a body.
Then Amanda saw something on Facebook. It was a picture that looked a lot like Whitney. But how could this be? She had been missing three weeks. And this cat was in another city!
We contacted the people and they showed some more up close pictures. The cat had some of the unique markings of Whitney.
So we drove to Chippewa and sure enough, it was our Whitney! These people knew someone who lives in our complex. The best we can figure, Whitney snuck in a car was accidentally brought to Chippewa. She charmed people there who fed her and kept her safe.

Now Whitney is back with us. Out other cats were not sure what to do. It was three weeks and now Whitney smelled different. There was lots of hissing and fluffed up tails. But things are getting back to normal.
This is the second time that we have unexpectedly gotten our cat back.
We are thankful that Whitney has returned. This is Good News!
