Good News: Through a Year of Pandemic
It has been about a year since our world turned upside down with the COVID-19 pandemic. I still remember the hope: “Twoo weeks to flatten the curve.” The battle has been far more difficult than what any of us expected.
So how is this good news?
I can’t speak for myself but I am thankful that we have made it through this year. Our family has done well, despite some very challenging circumstances. What was supposed to be a three week March Break ended up being a six month March Break. I’m so proud of all my kids.
Amanda has adapted well also. Not only has she continued her seminary studies in a modified format, she has started at a new job. That’s not to say that there have been no hard day, but she has done well.
I have been able to do both my jobs, as a pastor and a padre, during this past year. I have had to adapt and to learn new skills but it has worked well. In some ways, the change was refreshing.
I’m looking forward to a time when we get to a new normal, but for right now I am thankful that we have survived the past year relatively intact.
