Good News: Visiting an Oasis
I was not wandering in the desert but I did get the chance to visit an Oasis. Oasis is the name of the annual meeting of the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada (CBAC).
For the last twenty or so years, I was ordained with the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ). When we moved to Nova Scotia, I transferred my ordination to the related CBAC.
This was or first time attending Oasis, which is a gathering of pastors and others from congregations across the denomination. This year it was in Wolfville, the home of Acadia Divinity College.
Some might not like attending such gatherings, especially for the business. But I enjoyed it because of the opportunity to visit with and meet other leaders. I had the chance to get reacquainted with some other pastors I already knew and to meet some new ones.
We only went for one day but it was a nice time for Amanda and I to be out to get a sense of our new CBAC family. This was another confirmation that we are in the right place.
