Good News: With a Little Help From My Friends
During this time of pandemic and focus only on online worship services, we have experienced some limitations. But we have also experienced some opportunities. There are some things we can do now that we normally wouldn’t be able to.
I had planned for this past Sunday to do a dramatic-type message instead of a traditional sermon. The topic was: “Who is Jesus?”
Instead of just preaching a passage, I was going to interview individuals from the Bible about who they thought Jesus was.
I had actually done this at Mount Hamilton Baptist Church almost twenty years ago and I wanted to bring it back (with a fresh script) to Queen Street Baptist Church.
When I first did it, I used people in our congregation and I interviewed them live. But I now pre-record the services and this opens up new opportunities.
In addition to our own Paul Collins, I also asked a number of pastor friends of mine, Bob Davies, Derek Melanson and Rachel Wallace to video themselves. Each of them lives in a different province!
I was very pleased with the final result and I’m thankful for the help of my colleagues.
