I Bought Some Comic Books
Comic books have been a part of my life for a long time. Some of the first comics I owned were from the early seventies, when I was very young. While I had a couple of Superman comics, my focus was on war comics.
I ended up having thousands of comic that I held onto until I sold the majority of my collection almost ten years ago. I only kept a small amount of my collection.
Today, for the first time in a couple of decades, I bought some comics. I have no intention of collecting new comics. This is not because I dislike the new comics but because I just don’t want to go down that path.

Instead I picked some older comics. One is a copy of Our Fighting Forces from the late 1950s and another an issue of Blackhawk from the 1960s.
I was drawn to the simplicity of those old comics. It helps that they are both military-related, going back to my original interest as well as my current interests as a military member.
I am about to sit down and read them. I do this not to add a new hobby but as some self-care of doing something I enjoy for myself.
I am a comic book geek after all.
