I Still Have Opportunities to Preach
It has been about eight months since I have been a pastor of a church. While I don’t intend to be a pastor again after I retire as a chaplain, I will admit that I enjoy preaching.
This is ironic because as a child I was painfully shy and even during my undergraduate studies, public speaking was the most stressful activity.
However, I enjoy the writing and delivery of sermons.
Thankfully, I still have some opportunities to preach. We are attending Trinity Chapel at CFB Borden and I am on the rotation for preaching. This past Sunday was my turn.
I am glad that these opportunities are still available because preaching is something that I hope to continue in some manner of form.
Interestingly, last Sunday Amanda preached at Trinity Chapel and it felt a bit like the time when we shared the pulpit at Brookfield Baptist Church.
If you are interested in what I preached on, my manuscript can be found here. There is no audio or video version. You are welcome to check out previous Good News posts.
