Journal of John Wesley
There are a lot of books that I buy that sit on my shelf years before I ever pick them up to read. However, last June I picked up a copy of selections from the Journal of John Wesley. I started reading it that night as I could not wait to get into the mind of this great man of God. It is a very interesting read. For those who struggle with journalling, you will be encouraged to see that Wesley was fine for a day’s entry to be simply “Rode to London.” But of course there is much more than that. In this journal we get a sense of Wesley’s heart for evangelism. The amount of sermons he preached is overwhelming. Wesley was also a fine pastor who visited the sick and dying. Wesley was a scholar, who wrote numerous books and was responding to books written by others. I highly recommend the selections, but also would recommend the full Works of Wesley.
