My Goals for 2017
Some people reject New Year’s resolutions as mostly leading to failure. However, I believe that goals are important, whether made at the beginning of a new year or at any other time. I looked back at the goals I had for 2016 and I accomplish some (but not all of them). As far as I’m concerned, accomplishing something is always better than accomplishing nothing.
This year, I want to keep my goals to only a few, in order to set myself up for success. This is what I would like to accomplish in 2017.
- Finish my Doctor of Ministry thesis. I have been working on my DMin much longer than I should have. I need to finish it this year.
- Write my next book. It is going to be titled “Why I Am a Christian.” It will include both autobiographical and apologetic content.
- Publish an online course which will be an Introduction to the Gospels.
- Include a daily time for prayer. I do pray now, but it is in little snippets throughout the day. I intend to have a regular daily time of prayer, once a day.
I need to have a goal for my family as well, but I’m not sure what that is going to look like yet. I need quality time, with my wife and each of my children. How that will look like is yet to be determined. I also have some church goals, but that is something for a different post.
