New Year’s Resolutions
Do New Year’s resolutions work? That is up to you. This can be a time of real change, in your own life and that of your ministry. Personal and ministry goals are very important. There are a number of factors that lead to success.
1) Make it realistic. Want to be the next person on the moon? Fine, but perhaps you should aim at something more likely to be attainable.
2) Make it measurable. Want to lose weight? Me too. But what is a loss? Half a pound? Twenty pounds? Have some sort of way to determine success.
3) Keep it to a few. Do not come up with a list of twenty changes you want to make this year. Keep it one to three things on your list.
4) Remind yourself. Keep your goals in front of you. Print them out and pin them up. Go back to your list regularly.
5) Consider different areas of your life: physical, spiritual, financial, relational.
This can make a difference in your life. Take it seriously and watch how things change.
