Nostalgia of an Old War Movie
Inspired by a podcast I was listening to, I decided that I wanted to watch the Midway movie. Not the recent version but the 1976 movie (Amazon affiliate link) featuring Henry Fonda, Charlton Heston, and an incredible cast of top actors of the period.
The story of Midway is pretty powerful, both because it was the turning point in the war in the Pacific and because the American victory was pretty much by chance.
The Good News is not the Americans won (that is old good news) but that I enjoyed watching the movie. That is the era of war movies that I used to watch with my dad. I probably watched that movie multiple times with my dad.
For me, it was a good feeling to watch a classic movie with actors that I grew up with. It just helps that it is also on a topic I enjoy.
How about you? Do you enjoy old war movies? And if so, which ones?
