One Reason I Will Never Leave Christianity
I sometimes hear about people leaving Christianity. There are various reasons for this, both theological and emotional.
I will never leave Christianity and there is one reason for that.
I am convinced that there is good historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. The resurrection is the best theory to explain how Jesus could be dead one day and alive on the third day. Being confident in this historical event, there is no better place than the Christian faith.
But there are hypocrites in the church.
Jesus rose from the dead.
Some preachers are fakes and only do it only for the money.
Jesus rose from the dead.
There are passages in the Bible that we just don’t understand.
Jesus rose from the dead.
There are historical examples of people using religion for bad reasons.
Jesus rose from the dead.
I don’t like the bad things that happen.
Jesus rose from the dead.
Hell seems unfair.
Jesus rose from the dead.
I realize that there are things about God and the Bible that are confusing. We probably will not get our answers is this life. But I have built the foundation of my faith on the death and resurrection of Jesus. If they are true, I can deal with all other uncertainty.
