Our Big News!

If you have been following my personal posts, you will know that we are in a season of change. Over the past two days, we have moved back to our home town of St. Catharines. We found a house that really feels like home. The house is a mess with boxes and items to be unpacked. But it is our home. The only sad part is that one of our cats took off during the move.

It is nice to be back in St. Catharines. This is where I was born and raised. While many things are the same, many more have changed. I’m looking forward to rediscovering this city.

But that is not our big news.

Our big news is that Queen Street Baptist Church here in St. Catharines voted today to call me as their new pastor. I couldn’t ask for a better ministry opportunity. Not only is it in the city we want to live, but it is a congregation that we really felt a connection with. When I preached for the call two weeks ago, we knew this congregation was special. We already had a number of connections and it felt like home immediately.

This is big for me in a number of ways. One is that this will be my first pastorate in three years. I wasn’t sure I was going to pastor again. How I felt called to return to pastoring will be the subject of another post. I must make it clear that this is not about taking on a job just to pay the bills. A lot of circumstances have led to this point.

Please pray for Queen Street Baptist Church and our family as we begin this new stage of ministry. Our prayer is that God would be glorified and his kingdom built with this opportunity.
