Purpose of this Blog
I had a phone conversation today with a person who has read this blog. He accused me of taking potshots at other faiths (more specifically his own). I am sorry if I have offended anyone with my views, but I would like to make my position very clear. I am a Christian. I believe in the historical Christian faith of the Trinity, incarnation, inspiration of the Bible, atonement, resurrection. That I will not apologize for. I do make comments on other faith systems and sometimes link to other people’s comments. I do not believe that Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, atheists or various other groups have the full truth. I do not apologize for this either. The reason I am a Christian is because I believe Christianity is true. At the same time I respect people of other (or no) faith systems. I make statements about these systems, not to insult or mock, but to provoke conversation. I believe in the value of dialogue and I pray that people take my statements in this spirit. I will continue to comment on other faiths but I will strive to do it even more with respect (1 Peter 3:15).

FACT: Jesus never taught TRINITY. It is the teaching of “the historical faith.”
The “historical faith,” which teaches trinity, did not come about until the 5th century in the creed of man, called the Athanasian creed. That same “historical faith” burned people alive for reading and distributing the Bible, and killed countless thousands in bloody crusades.
However, Jesus SAID in John 17:3 ONE PERSON the FATHER was the ONLY TRUE GOD! And he prefixed it with what you need to KNOW in order to be a Christian, to be saved!!
A Christian teaches ONE PERSON, the Father is the ONLY TRUE GOD, just as their leader, Jesus Christ did! A FALSE Christian teaches ANOTHER God, one who is 3 persons (Matt 7:22-23; Gal 1:8), something Jesus NEVER did!
Did Jesus explicitly teach the Trinity? No. But did Jesus teach that he was Michael, as you believe? No. Did Jesus teach the canon of the New Testament? No. My reading of the Gospels is that Jesus taught that there is one God, but that he and the Father were both God. For me, the Trinity makes the most sense of the data. You are free to disagree and I have no desire to debate you on this. We have both made our positions clear, May God gives us both wisdom.
I believe the trinity is a much discussed concept mostly because of the issue of whether or not Jesus is God, and how could, or why would, God put himself into a limited restricted human form? That may be simply put but it is the issue that is always debated.
I am a Christian Scientist – yes it is Christian (follows Christ’s teachings) and yes it is Science (its teachings are proved through healing as Jesus did). In the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy said that the trinity is “a trinity in unity, three in one, – the same in essence, though multiform in office”.
Multiform in office indicates separate roles for each and might be thought of this way: Father – God, cause, creator; Son – effect, Messiah or Christ; Holy Ghost – Holy Spirit inspiring us and guiding us. To me this would explain the oneness of Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and God, just as the rays of the sun are not the sun – each one having its place to shine – but are one with and inseparable from the sun.
