Should Churches Still Use Facebook?

I remember when Facebook was the thing for churches to use. I still hear older people commenting on the importance of Facebook for reaching young people.
The problem is that most young people are not on Facebook. You can read about the trends here.
While I enjoy Facebook, my children have zero interest in it. If you want to reach them, Instagram is the place to be. They spend hours on Instagram.
But that doesn’t mean that churches should abandon Facebook. There are still many people on Facebook and teenagers are not the only ones we should be trying to connect with.
The average age of the person on Facebook may have risen but that platform still gives us valuable access to those people. You can reach a wide audience with very little effort and reach more with only a modest financial cost.
The point is to match your social media with who you are trying to connect with. If you want teenagers, go for Instagram. But everyone else, Facebook is still worth investing your time and energy in.
