Suffering for the Army
One of the areas of my life that I most enjoy is my work as a padre with the Lorne Scots. There is not much happening in the summer as we are in stand-down. However, this weekend we had an officer’s professional development weekend. He is where the suffering comes in. It was at the CO’s cottage. Yes I love this country enough that I am willing to spend one of the most beautiful weekends of the summer at a cottage.
It was a great time of bonding among the officers. There were lectures as well as free time for us to do things like tubing. Being there with my fellow officers made me realize how thankful I am to be in the Canadian army in general and with the Lorne Scots in particular. I am looking forward to getting back to the armoury on a regular basis.
