The Weight of Glory
I’m embarrassed to say that after being a C.S. Lewis fan for all of my Christian life, I just read The Weight of Glory for the first time. Better late than never.

One thing to be aware of is that the title of the book comes from the first chapter, which is a sermon that Lewis preached. The book is actually a collection of talks that Lewis gave in various contexts.
I won’t summarize each talk, but will rather note that this book is filled with classic C.S. Lewis. His sermons are exactly expository, but they are deeply biblical.
Reading these chapters reminds me why Lewis has had such an impact on me. He is dedicated to the truth of Scripture and at the same time is able to interact thoughtfully and theologically with the world around him.
Lewis does not come off as someone who has figured out everything. He rather invites us on the journey to understand more of who God is and what God wants from and for us.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Weight of Glory and fully expect to revisit it many times in the future. If you are like me and late in getting to this book, you need to find a copy now.
