Winston Churchill Announces Germany’s Surrender
As I am posting this, it is the 75th anniversary of V-E Day, Victory in Europe Day. It is important for us to remember that for much of the Second World War, it was uncertain who would win.
During the Battle of Britain, the hope for many was to just survive, with victory only a dream. But victory did come.
Of course even on that first V-E Day, the Allies were still at war with Japan. It was a time of rejoicing even though the battle raged on.
