A Family Weekend
Family means everything to me. Living a couple of hours away from much our family can make things challenging. But we were able to get a lot of family time in this weekend.
On Friday, our son Logan came to visit us in Wasaga Beach. This was his first time visiting us at our home here. We have only visited him at his group home. Those visits have been okay but we were all aware that we were in his space.
Being at our place, Logan was a lot more present and willing to engage. We watched some of the classic movies we used to watch when he was young and we went out for ice cream. He stayed over for the night and it went amazing. It was a lot of fun.
We took him back on Saturday morning and popped in to have a quick visit with Abby. We then drove down to St Catharines and had dinner with Amanda’s mom and brother and nephew. After dinner, I went to visit a couple of my cousins that I had not seen in a while.
The next day, Amanda and I got together with another of my cousins and her husband and their daughter. It had been even longer since we had seen them. We had a lot of fun spending much of the day with them.
Then today, Amanda took a nice leisurely drive back home, having some time to ourselves and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Southern Ontario.
It was an enjoyable weekend, made even better because it was filled with family. Once again, this is the advantage of being back in Ontario.
