Collecting Comics
I grew up collecting comics, in fact I think that I got my first comics at around the age of four. I started off with Our Army at War featuring Sgt Rock. I collected a lot of war comics and eventually expanded to superheroes.

I collected comics well into my twenties and really only stopped completely when I got married. For a long time I held onto my comic collection of thousands of books even though I didn’t really have the room.
Finally, as we were preparing to move, I made the decision to sell the majority of my collection, keeping only the oldest comics I had plus a few others that had sentimental value.
Recently the kids have been going to a collectibles store that also sells comics. I could not help but look through the comic boxes. I found that comics still had some draw.
So I bought a few comics and I have bought a few comics since. Now in my twenties, I used to spend $20-30 per week on comics. I will not do that nor will I begin collecting new comics.
My biggest nostalgic draw is that of DC Comics pre-1977. For some reason, I enjoy DC up until the end of this logo. Recently I have purchased some comics from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s.
The last time I had about thirty boxes of comics. I will not do that again. My goal is only to fill one box. Is this collecting? I suppose so but on only a very limited scale.
The few comics I have been purchasing have already brought me joy.
